LCHS Choral Music Department Policy regarding student athletes

NOTE: Student athletes should contact their coaches well in advance of any possible conflicts with choral music rehearsals and performances.

1. Athletic games take priority over choral music rehearsals.

2. Choral music performances take priority over athletic practices.

3. If there is an athletic game and a choral music performance held at the same date/time, students may choose which one to attend, without penalty from either party.

4. If there is an athletic practice and a choral music rehearsal held at the same date/time, students may choose which one to attend, without penalty from either party. 

That said, generally there is only one outside of school choral rehearsal before a major performance, whereas there are several athletic practices before a game. Therefore, it is a major preference of the choral music department to have the student athletes attend the choral rehearsal over the athletic practice when such conflicts occur. However, the student still has the choice to which event they will attend without penalty.
